What do we offer?
Simon has been involved in Motorsport all his life and after leaving Oxford Brookes University in 2006 with a BSc in Motorsport Engineering, has gone on to be #1 and chief mechanic at a number of top teams before starting SWB in 2010. He is responsible for the day to day running of the team and all the trackside engineering at tests and race weekends. He also keeps a close eye on car preparation, much to the annoyance of ‘the pigeons’ as he affectionately refers to the mechanics.
Nick is also a director of the company and takes great pleasure in assisting the team at the circuits and also driving the team’s transporter to and from all races and tests. Originally from an agricultural background, he helped with the startup of the team and also assists with catering ‘on event’.
Working alongside Nick, Sue is our on-event hospitality and catering manager. She looks after drivers, guests, sponsors and the team over race weekends and is pivotal to the success of our hospitality effort with potential drivers and sponsors for the next season.
Toby Cope – Number 1 Mechanic
Toby comes originally from the National College for Motorsport at Silverstone. Toby will be involed with Formula Ford, Formula Renault and Clio Cup this year and although only joining SWB 18 months ago, he has already helped Clio racer Tommy Ostgaard to 6 out of 8 wins in his maiden season of Michelin Clio Cup action. Toby will be looking after one of our Formula Fords and one of our Formula Renaults this year trying to get James Webb up into the front of the pack in Formula Ford.
Jake Bonham – Number 1 Mechanic
Jake has a wealth of experience gained through working on lots of championships from Fun-Cup and Caterhams up to Seat SuperCopa and BARC Formula Renault. Jake is looking after one of our Formula Renaults and one of our Formula Fords this year hoping to help Atte Lehtonen to the podium positions he is aiming at for 2014.
